The Lucknow District Co-operative Inc has an opening for an Agronomy Summer Student.

Summary

The Agronomy Assistant Student Position will allow you the chance to check out the real life and work of crop production. You will get to experience daily operations of the agronomy business, which involves items of customer service, operations and sales support. Term is approximately April 15-August 31.

Main Responsibilities

  • Servicing customers in a courteous and timely manner
  • Operating fertilizer blending equipment and loading trucks/spreaders
  • Deliveries of seed, crop protection, fertilizer products to farm
  • May occasionally drive a truck, forklift
  • Assist Crop Specialist with in field scouting of weeds, insects, and pests
  • Must be able to work seasonal overtime (evenings, weekends) as required
  • Must contribute to a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned by Agronomy or General Manager

Education and Experience

  • Keen interest in crop production and agriculture, college or university student in agriculture preferred
  • Individuals must possess a G driver’s license & be insurable by company's insurance
  • Must be capable of lifting 25kg
  • Safety and quality training will be provided
